Task: Set up a task minder

Somewhere in my electronic travels I came across a piece in Computerworld that detailed 20 tech habits to improve your life. I tucked it away for a time when I could see how many of the 20 actually would be worth implementing. Turns out there are, maybe, a few. I started with Habit 7, Stay on Task with the Right To-Do List. (Task 1, Telecommute by Remotely Controlling your Office Computer no longer — yippee — applies to me, and 2, Schedule Automatic Hard-Drive Backups, Locally and Remotely, is so far being handled on schedule by my manual backups. Etc.) But I figured why not give Remember the Milk a try? I love to-do lists, although I love them in pencil on scratch paper. I just set up a week’s worth. We’ll see whether I get electronic satisfaction from RTM.

Stay tuned on whether I can pry a few loose from the remaining list.

I actually still sort of do 1 or 2 of Stephen Covey’s “7 Habits of Highly Successful People,” a source of much eye-rolling and hilarity among Seattle Times managers when many years ago we all went through a program the cost of which I shudder to contemplate. I’m just optimistic enough to think there’s always a chance of achieving self-improvement (hence, this blog), so perhaps 1 or 2 of the 20 tech habits will stick.
